Eremomela turneri

Turner's Eremomela

A rare and localised warbler, much sought after by visiting birders.

Turner's Eremomela is a small warbler of the forest canopy with a very limited range. Kakamega is one of the best-known sites for the species, making it a key target on many birding trips.

Tips for finding it

Look high in the canopy among mixed feeding flocks; patience and a guide who knows its call help enormously.

Forest birds are often heard long before they are seen. A guide who knows the calls is the single best investment you can make.

Join our Kakamega Forest birding tour or plan a multi-day birding stay to give yourself the best chance.
