Lirhanda Hill rises above the southern section of Kakamega Forest and is one of the most rewarding viewpoints in the reserve. Starting in the dark, you walk up through the forest and arrive in time to watch mist lift off the canopy as the forest wakes up.
On the way down the forest is full of birdsong and primate activity — the perfect bridge into a full morning of birding.
Highlights
- Panoramic sunrise over the canopy
- Morning chorus of forest birds
- Optional stop at the Lirhanda bat cave area
