Kakamega Forest is the easternmost remnant of the rainforest that once stretched from Central Africa to western Kenya. Its southern section around Isecheno, managed for conservation and research, has an extensive trail network that starts within easy walking distance of the guesthouse.
The forest is home to remarkable birdlife, primates, butterflies, reptiles and giant indigenous trees.
