Crying Stone of Ilesi

An iconic granite rock formation with deep cultural meaning to the Luhya community.

The Crying Stone of Ilesi stands beside the Kakamega–Kisumu road. Water seeps down the rock like tears, and the stone is an important cultural landmark in western Kenya. It makes a great stop on the way to or from the forest.
